INTRODUCTION:
DevClash 2026 is a flagship competitive coding event designed to test participants across fundamentals, algorithmic thinking, and real-world code comprehension. The event progresses through three carefully designed rounds, each eliminating teams while increasing depth, strategy, and technical maturity. Participants will compete either solo or in teams of two, tackling challenges that simulate real engineering decision-making rather than rote coding.
Prizes:
1st – 10,000
2nd– 4,000
Registration Fees: Rs.200
Each team must consist of a maximum of two participants and a minimum of one participant.
Participants are expected to maintain high standards of professionalism and sportsmanship.
Any form of cheating, plagiarism, rule violation, or unethical behaviour will result in immediate disqualification.
Collaboration between different teams is strictly prohibited.
Participants may use any programming language, unless specified otherwise in a particular round.
Code should be clean, readable, and follow basic coding best practices.
College lab systems will be used for Round 2 and Round 3.
Mobile phones will be collected before applicable rounds.
Internet access will be restricted as per round rules.
Each round has a strict time limit. Teams must stop coding immediately when their allotted time ends.
In Round 1 & Round 2, use of AI tools is strictly prohibited.
In Round 3, AI usage is allowed only via the officially provided AI chatbot.
Participants must be able to explain and justify all submitted code.
Round 1: ConceptStrike
Mode: Online (Kahoot)
ConceptStrike is the opening elimination round of DevClash 2026 and is designed to test participants on their core Computer Science fundamentals in a fast-paced and engaging quiz format. This round focuses on understanding concepts. The questions are crafted to assess logical reasoning, basic programming awareness, and conceptual clarity through scenario-based and code comprehension MCQs.
Key Focus Areas:
Logical reasoning
Basic programming concepts
Code comprehension and output-based questions
Round 2: Algorithm Arena
Mode: Offline (HackerRank – College Lab PCs)
Algorithm Arena is a problem-solving round that evaluates a participant’s ability to analyze problems, apply logical thinking, and translate solutions into working code. Instead of emphasizing advanced terminology, this round focuses on clarity through correctness, efficiency, and approach.
Round 3: Build & Defend (Final Round)
Mode: Offline
Build & Defend is the final and most crucial round of DevClash 2026. This round focuses on evaluating participants’ coding logic, code readability, structural clarity, and explanation skills.
Teams will be provided with a generic project folder structure and a clearly defined problem statement. The emphasis is not on frameworks or tools, but on how well participants structure their solution, implement logic, and defend their decisions before the judges.
Participants are required to implement two features:
Feature 1: A mandatory core functionality that all teams must complete
Feature 2: A choice-based enhancement feature that allows teams to showcase creativity and depth
Evaluation Parameters:
Logical correctness and completeness
Code readability and organization
Use of helper or utility functions (optional)
Validation and handling of edge cases
Ability to clearly explain and defend the solution
Presentation & Judging:
Each team will be given 10 minutes (7 minutes for presentation followed by 3 minutes of judge interaction).
Outcome:
Based on overall performance, the top 2-3 teams will be declared winners.
Judging Criteria:
Evaluation will be based on logic correctness, code readability, structure, and explanation.
The decision of the judges shall be final and binding.
