GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Registration of the participant should be completed prior to the event date with the coordinator of
the event.
2. Participants should be a bonafide student of the University and should not be under any disciplinary
probation.
3. No hired accompanist permitted for group events.
4. Vulgarity and obscenity will not be entertained in any form.
5. The decision of the judges will be final.
6. The computation of time shall start immediately after the final announcement by the organizer/s.
Hence, the participants are advised to tune their instruments well in advance.
7. There should be a minimum of 4 & maximum 10 members in the band.
8. The participating band is required to bring their own instruments except the drums, amplifier and
mics which shall be provided by the organizing committee.
9. Every band must perform a minimum 15 minutes and maximum 20 minutes. If the time is not
adhered to, the band shall be penalized with deduction of scores from the final score. Setup Time will
be 5 minutes.
10. There should not be any kind of obscene content in the list.
11. The judgment criteria for the competition:

• Stage presence
• Cohesiveness
• Choice of Song/Content
• Symphony

12. The decision of the judges shall be final.
13. Bands may bring one roadie to assist them with set-up and break-down and that person must also
be listed on the registration form.
14. All bands agree to have their name, voice, and/or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting
material relating to this contest without compensation or rights to royalties for such use.
15. On the day of performance, band members must be dressed in clothing free from obscenities. 10.
Band name and lyrics of performance songs should not contain any obscenities if possible. 11. Judges
can deduct points for any use of obscenities not necessary.
16. The use of any illegal substances will not be tolerated. If any band member is suspected to be
under the influence of an illegal substance, the entire band will be disqualified and the proper
authorities will be notified.
17. Bands should not use pre-recorded sound material. All bands must play live.
