Singing-Music Events

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

Registration of the participant should be completed prior to the event date with the coordinator of the event.
Participants should be a bonafide student of the University and should not be under any disciplinary probation.
No hired accompanist permitted for group events.
Vulgarity and obscenity will not be entertained in any form.
The decision of the judges will be final.
The computation of time shall start immediately after the final announcement by the organizer/s. Hence, the participants are advised to tune their instruments well in advance.

2^nd– 2,000
Registration Fees: Rs.100

(a) Instrumental Solo (Percussion Tal Vadya)

Duration of performance: 5 minutes.
Time for stage/ instruments setting is a maximum of 5 minutes.
Maximum number of accompanists is 4.
Participants must bring their own instruments.
Items can be presented in either Hindustani or Western style.
Judgment is based on the qualities like taal, selection of raga, composition and overall impression.

(b) Instrumental Solo (Non-Percussion Swar Vadya)

Duration of performance: 5 minutes.
Time for stage/ instruments setting is a maximum of 5 minutes.
Maximum number of accompanists is 4.
Participants must bring their own instruments. Casio is not allowed.
Instruments of western origin adapted to the India Raga system are allowed.
Items can be presented in either Hindustani or Western style.
Judgment is on the qualities like swara, tal, selection of raga, composition and overall impression.

(c) Light Vocal Solo: (Bollywood)

Duration of performance: 5 minutes.
Time for stage/ instruments setting is a maximum of 5 minutes.
Maximum number of accompanists is 4.
Duration of the song shall be between 4 and 5 minutes.
The songs can be in any regional/official language of India, other than English.
Judgment ison the qualities like swara, taal, selection of raga, composition and overall impression.

(d) Western Vocal Solo:

Duration of performance: 5 minutes.
Time for stage/instruments setting is maximum of 5 minutes.
Maximum number of accompanists is 4.
Duration of the song shall be between 4 and 5 minutes.
Language of the song shall only be English.
Judgment is made on the qualities like rhythm, composition coordination and overall impression.

(g) Light Vocal Duet: (Bollywood)

Duration of performance: 5 minutes.
Time for stage/ instruments setting is a maximum of 5 minutes.
Maximum number of accompanists is 4.
Duration of the song shall be between 4 and 5 minutes.
The songs can be in any regional/official language of India, other than English.
Judgment ison the qualities like swara, taal, selection of raga, composition and overall impression.

(h) Western Vocal Duet:

Duration of performance: 5 minutes.
Time for stage/instruments setting is a maximum of 5 minutes.
Maximum number of accompanists is 4.
Duration of the song shall be between 4 and 5 minutes.
Language of the song shall only be English.
Judgment is made on the qualities like rhythm, composition coordination and overall impression.
